Robert Bruce and Marjory Margaret of Carrick

Robert Bruce was born in Jul 1243 in Annandale, Dumfrieshire, Scotland as the seventh child of Robert De Bruce and Isabel De Clare. He had six siblings, namely: Aloisia, Richard, Isabella, Bernard Brus, William, and John. He died about 04 Apr 1304 in Palestine. When he was 27, He married Marjory Margaret of Carrick,daughter of Neil and Margaret Stewart, in 1271 in Turnberry Castle.

Robert Bruce was known by the title of Earl of Carrick.

Robert Bruce and Marjory Margaret of Carrick had the following children:

1. Isabel Bruce was born in 1272 in Carrick, Argyllshire, Scotland,. She died in 1358 in Bergen, Norway.
Christina Bruce was born in 1273 in Seton, East Lothian, Scotland. She married Andrew Moray in 1305.

2. Christiana Bruce was born in 1273.

3. Robert The Bruce was born on 11 Jul 1274 in Writtle, Chelmsford, Essex. He died on 07 Jun 1329 in Cardoss Castle, Firth of Clyde, Scotland. He married Isobel Of Mar in 1296. He married Elizabeth De Burgh in 1302.

4. Edward Bruce was born about 1276 in Carrick, Argyllshire, Scotland. He died in Oct 1318 in Tagher, Near Dundalk, Ireland.

5. Nigel Bruce was born about 1279 in Carrick, Argyllshire, Scotland. He died in 1306 in Berwick, Northumberland, England.

6. Mary Bruce was born in 1282 in Carrick,Galloway,Argyllshire,Scotland. She died in 1323 in Abbey,Fearn,Ross Cromarty,Scotland. She married Niel Campbell in 1295 in Lochawe, , Argyllshire, Scotland. She married Alexander Fraser in 1316 in Fraser, Stirlingshire, , Scotland.

7. Maud Bruce was born about 1282 in Carrick, Argyllshire, Scotland.

8. Thomas Bruce was born about 1284 in Carrick, Argyllshire, Scotland. He died on 09 Feb 1306/07 in Carlisle, Cumberland, England.

9. Alexander Bruce was born in 1285 in Carrick, Argyllshire, Scotland. He died in Carlisle, Cumberland, England.

SIR ROBERT DE BRUS, Lord of Annandale, son and heir by 1st wife, born July 1243.) He did homage and had livery of his father's lands, July 1295. Having married, 1stly, in 1271, Margery, suo iure COUNTESS OF CARRICK [SCT], he was summoned cum equis et armis from 6 April 1282 to I7 August I291, and to attend the King at Shrewsbury, 28 June 1283, by writs directed Roberto de Brus comiti de Carrik'. After his 1st wife's death, he resigned the Earldom of Carrick to his son, and they, as Robert de Brus le veil, and Robert de Brus le jeouene, Earl of Carrick, swore fealty to Edward I, 28 August 1296. He was summoned cum equis et armis from 15 May 1297 to 12 March 1300/1, and to Parliament from 24 June 1295 to 26 August 1296, and to attend the King at Salisbury 26 January 1296/7), by writs directed Roberto de Brus (only), by which summonses to Parliament he is held to have become LORD BRUS. He married, 2ndly, Alianore. He died shortly before 4 April 1304, age 60, and was buried in the Abbey of Holm Cultram. His widow married, without license, between 2 December 1304. and 8 February 1305/6, Sir Richard LE WALEYS, of Burgh Wallis, co. York [LORD WALEYS]. She died between 13 April and 8 September 1331. Marjorie of Carrick, countess of Carrick suo jure, daughter of Nigel or Neil, Earl of Carrick. 2. Robert the BRUCE Earl of Carrick was born in 1240. He died before 4 Apr 1304 in England. He was married to Marjorie of Carrick Countess of Carrick in 1271 in Turnberry Castle. Marjorie of Carrick Countess of Carrick died before 1292
