 Roger de Mowbray, 1st Baron de Mowbray of Axlholme, by writ, married Rose, daughter of Richard de Clare, Earl of Hertford and Gloucester, son of Gilbert de Clare, son of Richard de Clare, both Sureties for Magna Chart
 Foundation For Medieval Genealogy .             ROGER de Mowbray (-[Axholme] [Nov 1266], bur [Pontefract, Friars Church]).  A manuscript which recites the Mowbray ancestry names “Nigellum et Rogerum” as sons of “Willielmus de Molbray”, adding that Roger was buried “apud Pontemfractum”[657].  A manuscript record of the Mowbray family (many of the details in which relating to the early generations of the family are inconsistent with other sources) states that “Rogerus”, son of “Willielmus de Molbray”, died “in insula de Haxiholme” and was buried “apud Pomfret…in ecclesia prædictorum fratrum”[658].  m as her first husband, MAUD de Beauchamp, daughter of WILLIAM de Beauchamp Baron of Bedford & his wife Ida de Longespee of the Earls of Salisbury (-before Apr 1273).  A manuscript which recites the Mowbray ancestry records that “Rogerus”, son of “Willielmus de Molbray”, married “Matildam, filiam Willielmi de Bello-campo”[659].  She married secondly Roger Le Strange Lord Strange.  The primary source which confirms her second marriage has not yet been identified.   Roger & his wife had four children:  a)             ROGER de Mowbray (-before 21 Nov 1297).  A manuscript which recites the Mowbray ancestry records that “Rogerus”, son of “Willielmus de Molbray”, and his wife had “filias tres et filium unum…Rogerum”[660].  He was summoned to parliament 24 Jun 1295, whereby he is held to have become Lord Mowbray.  -        see below.  b)             three daughters .  A manuscript which recites the Mowbray ancestry records that “Rogerus”, son of “Willielmus de Molbray”, and his wife had “filias tres et filium unum…Rogerum”[661].

Agnes Rohese Rose de Clare was born on 17 Oct 1252 in Tonbridge Castle, Kent, England. She was the daughter of Richard de Clare, 5th Earl of Hertford, 6th Earl of Gloucester (1222-1262) and Lady Maud Countess of Gloucester de (Lacy) de Clare (1223-1288/89).

Lady Agnes Rohese Rose de Clare married Roger III (1st Baron) de Mowbray (1254-1297) in Waltham, Kent, England on July 15, 1270. Roger was the son of Roger de Mowbray (1220-1266) and Lady Maud de Beauchamp Baroness Mowbray (1229-1273).

Roger and Agnes Rose de Mowbray were the parents of the following known children: Roger, John, Elizabeth, Alexander, Christianna, Robert, Andrew, Edmund, William and Constance de Mowbray.

Lady Agnes Rohese Rose de Clare Baroness Mowbray died in 1316 in Hovingham Castle, Yorkshire, England. She was 64 years old.
